Her first performance of her original work on stage was in Asheville’s citywide Brown Bag Songwriting Competition. Kaminer won crowd favorite and the grand prize – the opportunity to record at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC. Her debut, Acre by Acre, was released in 2015.

Over the course of the next two years, Kaminer set out to create a fuller sound, experimenting with her band, Heartbreak Highlight Reel.
