Violinist, Cellist, Composer, and Inventor Duncan Wickel is, in the words of The Boston Globe, “A considerable talent…as persuasive in a traditional Irish ballad as he is country fiddling or ripping through cascading classical flourishes or atonal double stops”. Duncan has performed twice on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and has toured and/or recorded with The Duhks, John Doyle, Karan Casey, Ruth Moody, Rushad Eggleston, Cara Dillon, Matuto, Tapiere, Emily Elbert, Maeve Gilchrist, The Rondo Rigs and a host of others.
His music has echoed off the walls at Carnagie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center, and he has performed and taught in 22 countries over 6 continents. Duncan is currently recording his Debut solo record, a duo record with Lily Henley and is a member of Stash Wyslouch’s The Stash! Band, with a sophmore record due for release in 2017
Duncan is also the inventor of The Wickelbuckle- a stylish apparatus which enables violinists to release their shoulders head and neck while playing. He is a Graduate of The Berklee College of Music, which he attended on scholarship and Fletcher Bright Award in Recognition for outstanding musicianship.
