Merging a deep commitment to social justice with an abiding love of the art and craft or songwriting, they present an unforgettable show, bridging cultures, ideas, and generations.

Si Kahn

Si Kahn has spent a lifetime writing music and organizing for a better world. From the Civil Rights movement to Mineworkers to environmental issues – his individual and artistic commitment to social justice is indefatigable. Si has released 16 albums of his songs of family, community, love, work and freedom; a CD of original songs for children, Good Times and Bedtimes; a collection of traditional labor and civil rights songs recorded with Pete Seeger and Jane Sapp; four books; and the songs and/or scripts for seven musicals. Si is also the lead organizer for Musicians United To Protect Bristol Bay an international network of over 700 musicians who use their music and media access to help stop the proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska. If built it will be the largest open pit copper and gold mine in the world, threatening to destroy Alaska Native villages that have been on the same river sites for over 10,00 years and the world’s richest remaining wild sockeye salmon fishery.
