Husband and wife duo Ordinary Elephant share stories told through honest songwriting, clawhammer banjo, guitar, and ripe vocal harmonies.

Gina Holsopple’s music is like the illegitimate daughter of Melissa Etheridge and Joan Baez… “Sometimes punchy, sometimes poignant”

Ordinary Elephant

It won’t take you long to hear that the Texas Music Journal was right— “the part that

becomes magic for Ordinary Elephant is the blend, the sound that becomes more than the sum of the individual parts.” Ordinary Elephant is a married couple who happily call the road home, living fulltime in an RV with their four dogs since early 2014, when they shed most of their possessions and former hometown of Houston, TX.

Released in January, the couple’s latest album ‘Before I Go’ quickly received the support of the folk community, subsequently reaching No. 2 on the Folk DJ chart. The album also received a warm welcome in Europe. Upon his review of the album, Dani Heyvaert of said “I was there when Gillian Welch and David Rawlings were here for the first time, and that concert is still in my head after all these years. I suspect that this couple is going to play in the same league in the foreseeable future.”
