Civil Wars’ harmonies w/ Tedeschi Trucks soul. The Traveling Ones express “heart and soul through fine musicianship, great lyrics, soulful singing and well-written, moving songs. ” – Indie Spoonful

You won’t want to miss Traveling Ones with Kozak and the Poets on June 27th at Isis Lounge. Thomas and Mackenzie Kozak will be bringing a whole year of new songs along, with the great Chuck Knott (formerly of Jahman Brahman) accompanying on electric. Bound to be a great night.

The Traveling Ones

7:00PM

From the moment Justin and Emily met at an open mic in Austin, TX, they knew they had a special connection. What started as a romantic relationship quickly blossomed into a music career that the two dove into hand-in-hand. When on stage it’s hard to deny the chemistry that Emily and Justin share. They released their debut album, Meet Me There, in February of 2017 and in August relocated to Nashville, TN, where they now call home.
With shared influences that span decades and genres (Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, The Black Crowes, The Beatles) the duo’s music is more about heart than labels or boundaries. Even so, it exhibits a consistently laid-back pattern of soulful blues-rock. “Like the sentimental ballads from Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams, the Traveling One’s style of Americana is rich in harmony and full of character,” wrote Tour Worthy of the couple’s unique, earthy sound.
