Every Tuesday evening Isis presents our Tuesday Bluegrass Sessions. The sessions are hosted each week by a local bluegrass musician with friends or a band. Following the host band, Bluegrass musicians from the Asheville area gather on stage to jam in an open session. Occasionally, we feature a touring band that will perform prior to the open session and help co-host the jam. It’s always a great evening of music and community.

7:30-9:30PM: Host Band : Unspoken Tradition

9:30 – til: Open Jam

Unspoken Tradition

Unspoken Tradition recently made their main stage debut at Merle Fest this Spring and have been playing at the Isis Music Hall for some time now including opening performances for Peter Rowan, Balsam Range and The Boxcars.
The second national release from Unspoken Tradition, Mile Between, offers a huge, energetic sound from a small town band. Straight from the heart of North Carolina’s Bluegrass country, this five-piece group does what few new groups have; followed a successful debut album with an even stronger sophomore release.

Miles Between holds eight original songs from its members, includes dynamic writing and arranging  and maintains a traditional feel. Although self-produced and independently released, the performance, production and song quality of this release is top flight.

The group hales from the small town of Cherryville, N.C. Members Audie McGinnis (guitar, vocals), Zane McGinnis (banjo), along side Lee Shuford (bass, vocals)  Tim Gardner (fiddle, vocals), Ty Gilpin (mandolin, vocals)
