Asheville native daughter Amanda Horton spends most of her stage time singing operatic, orchestral and musical theater repertoire across the region, with some cabaret and American songbook programs from time to time. Recent critics have praised her “tenderness and serenity”, “clear articulation and spot on intonation” and “how expressive her lovely voice is in presenting the emotional content of a song”.
Amanda excels in unusual and intimate venues as well as the concert hall, and will bring her “merry and bright” holiday jazz set to the Isis Lounge in West Asheville on December 21. The show is a fusion of mystical global winter folk tunes, 1940s songbook tunes, Broadway gems and a few beloved holiday songs from years gone by. Featuring all original arrangements by Daniel Keller (guitarist) and Andy Jurik. Join us for a cozy, quieter evening with good friends and food- a welcome escape from the rush, cold and commercialism of the season.
