Europe’s premier bluegrass quartet, Red Wine, all the way from the northern port city of Genova, Italy; one of the premier bluegrass and acoustic music bands in Europe, this act has been actively touring since 1978, with a style that embraces traditional and contemporary bluegrass, country, gospel and swing.
Red Wine
RED WINE has played all over Europe, appearing at some of the major international festivals and venues, sharing the stage with many acts from the USA and Europe and gaining a strong following everywhere.
In 2008 Red Wine received the "Liguria Region Music Award" from the Christopher Columbus Foundation in Genova, and since 2009 produces the show "THE BLUEGRASS PARTY", that each year brings to Genova bluegrass fans and music lovers from all over Italy and Europe, different Europe.
In 2018 the band has celebrated its 40th anniversary with the recording of a new cd, CAROLINA RED, which was produced and recorded by the great JENS KRUGER at the Kruger Brother Studio in Wilkesboro NC , followed up by a short East Coast US tour, then in May with a 2 weeks long tour across all Europe with long time friend PETER ROWAN, and in November with its own 10th Bluegrass Party.
With the blend of the two youngest members Marco Ferretti (guitar, vocal) and Lucas Bellotti (electric bass, vocal), to veteran founding member Silvio Ferretti (banjo, vocal, and one of the first six EBMA European Bluegrass Music Association Pioneers Awards in 2013) and Martino Coppo (mandolin, vocal), the band has found new excitement and has expanded even more its music boundaries, looking for more original and contemporary material, while keeping its sound deeply rooted in the tradition.
