Charlston based singer songwriter, Sam Rae brings her classical roots on the cello into a unique blend with her folk inspired songs. Currently a cellist for Brandi Carlile, she has also collaborated and toured with Elephant Revival and Gregory Alan Isakov. Sam Rae’s music tells stories of her spacious upbringing in Iowa mixed with her experiences as a queer, gender fluid creative. With roots in improvised cello looping she blends the traditional landscape of songwriting with the many musical textures of the cello, guitar and her vocals. Sam Rae’s voice is the highlight making her sound truly hers. She will be releasing her next full length album fall 2019.
