Now in its 18th year, the NewSong Music Performance & Songwriting Competition is one of the premier showcases of performing songwriters in North America. Judges will select eight finalists from advance online submissions. Those artists will perform in a live showcase and competition finals at Isis Music Hall on Saturday, November 23. A panel of music industry judges will select the overall winner of the competition.
This year's grand prize winner will receive an all-expense paid six-song EP, mixed and recorded at Asheville's Echo Mountain Recording Studios and released on the award winning NewSong Recordings label. The grand prize winner will also receive a performance showcase at the esteemed 2019 Sundance ASCAP Music Cafe at the Sundance Film Festival (Jan 23-Feb 2, 2020) in Park City, Utah and be featured in the Arts Brookfield 'Summer Plaza' series in New York City in summer 2020.
