Jesse Dingle’s father was an amateur singer with a Southern Gospel Male Quartet in Fayetteville, NC. As a child, he was inspired by their rehearsals that took place in the family living room. He’d curl up in a chair and just listen. Because of a speech stutter, he lacked the confidence in his ability to sing until much later in life. Sitting in church one Sunday morning, the choir director heard his deep, rich, pitch perfect First Tenor singing voice behind her. She was so impressed; she insisted that he join the choir. “You will be singing in my choir” were the words from Mrs. Forbes that set in motion a newly realized passion for vocal performing. From then on, he has sought opportunities to let his light shine. Three years ago, and prior to moving to WNC, Mr. Dingle was part of the prestigious and world renowned vocal ensemble, The Alexandria Singers out of D.C. Undaunted by the fact that he is busy father, husband and principal of Asheville High School, he continues to further his musical education. In addition to vocal coaching from Peggy, he is also under the tutelage of guitar instructor Kylie Irvin. This Voice on the Verge showcase will be a debut performance for Jesse as a solo artist/singer.
