Celebrate Nick Drake’s birthday with a tribute to one of the most iconic albums of one of the most influential folk artists of all time. Threadbare stays true to the guitar and vocal arrangements by Nick Drake to provide a live experience of the the Pink Moon album from start to finish. With a heavy influence of Nick Drake, a brief set of Threadbare’s original songs will prelude the album tribute.
Threadbare (Ben Mackel) grew up near Asheville, NC and is an actor by trade. He is also a member of the harmony driven trio, The Blue Eyed Bettys. Apart from his high energy shows with The Bettys, his Threadbare project gives Ben a chance to delve further into his love of simple, bittersweet songs that are prone to pulling your heartstrings.
The name Threadbare is derived from the minimalistic lyrics and simple melodies being weathered and woven into a fabric just strong enough to make a song that’s full of sentiment and comfort – much like your favorite hoodie.
